The Photo Gallery: Week 228

Gallery logoHello and welcome to week 228 of The Photo Gallery.

Life has pretty much taken over in the Sticky Fingers household over the past couple of weeks.
My mum has undergone major surgery to have a tumour ‘the size of a large grapefruit’ removed from one of her ovaries and it’s been a time of waiting and hoping and my mind being everywhere and anywhere but not where it’s supposed to be.

Over the same period, the husband took it upon himself to organise two rugby tournaments for the club Dan and Mia play for which has pretty much taken over his life once he’s back from work. Hours and hours sat at the computer because he is a perfectionist and likes to get everything spot on.
Of course, it’s paid off; the comments he’s had from visiting coaches and parents have been amazing and I’m so proud of him.

BUT it’s meant my online life has suffered. The blog and any blog reading or chatting or just relaxing have been out the window.

My mum is doing really really well. Ridiculously well. You would never know what she’s just been through as she convalesces in her back garden – probably one of her most favourite places – listening to the birds sing and the flowers bloom.
I hope to the high heavens I have THOSE fighting genes in me because it’s nothing short of inspirational.

So this is all a way of explaining to you why the Gallery theme is so darn late!
Anyway, in celebration of my mum the theme for the Photo Gallery this week is: My back garden.
And as usual, interpret the theme any way you like.

I’ll see you back here on Wednesday when it’s time to link up x

The Photo Gallery is a weekly feature for all those who love photography and photographs.
I set it up back in 2010 to give everyone an outlet to share and encourage and write really interesting posts around their pictures.

It has always been about being part of a community of like-minded people. It’s about sparking your imagination, being inspiring – and inspiring others.

But remember, you will get out of The Gallery what you put in, so try to visit as many of the other entries as you can, say hi, discover new people, welcome them in when they discover you, be generous with your comments.

NEW HERE? NOT SURE HOW TO ENTER THE GALLERY?

If you’re new here, here’s a post to tell you all about what The Photo Gallery is all about and how to enter.
And if you want to make sure you don’t miss any prompts or entries in future, make sure you subscribe to the Sticky Fingers blog and get all prompts delivered directly to your in box.
Go on, clicky click away, you know you want to …

If you want to join in with The Gallery and showcase your photos, come back on Wednesday and when my Gallery post goes live, add a link to your post on the Linky below mine.
The link stays open until the following Tuesday, so you have plenty of time to join in.
And ANYONE can join in.
