The Photo Gallery 227: Colour

Nutribullet blastFor anyone who follows me on Instagram I really must apologise; I have become a NutriBullet bore.
I get so excited about the concoction I’ve produced I’ve snapped photos galore trying to get the brightest smoothie I can.

My first attempt was described on Facebook by a friend as “compost coloured”. She wasn’t wrong, but it tasted delicious.
My next attempt I would describe as ‘slowly getting there’, but this baby, this is the one that get me all excited. I know, I know.
I can honestly say I’m very impressed with the gadget. And I was very very sceptical before trying it out. Seriously, how can it be better than a simple blender? The one I use every morning that cost me £20.
Well it is and I love it and I’m going to bore you a little bit more with my breakfast and lunch creations!

This particular recipe filled me up so much I had to forego my late afternoon chocolate digestives which is UNHEARD of!
AND my skin looks like I’ve had an expensive facial. It’s all the wins.

So, just in case you fancy giving this one a go here is the recipe:

½ Tall Cup of spinach
½ Banana
½ cup strawberries
½ cup blueberries
1 tbs hemp seeds
fill to the max line with coconut water

NOTE: I’m actually running a giveaway to win a NutriBullet – in gold or purple. Just comment on the post to enter.

This post is for week 227 of The Photo Gallery: The theme is: Colour.

Here’s how to join in

Take a photo using the theme I’ve given as your inspiration. There are no rules and you can interpret the theme any way you like.

Write a blog post using your photo. You can write as many or as few words as you like. You don’t even need to use a new photo; just a photo you think represents the prompt.

Now go visit as many of the other entries as you can. Leave a comment, discover new blogs, discover new ways of taking photos and maybe share any tips you have.

The Photo Gallery isn’t about taking technically brilliant photos. You can take them on your phone, your point and shoot or your fancy pants camera. It’s about having a passion for photos, wanting to better yourself and discovering what other bloggers are doing.

Definitely intrigued by your Nutribullet drinks. I’m adding blueberries to my grape nuts every morning at the moment, and also I have a real thing for Watermelon and Parma ham salad. Nom!

  2. I’ve heard a lot about NutriBullet. Very tempted to buy one. Drinking anything green has to be a good thing!

I confess I was quite sceptical Rosie. I’ve just a regular blender for years and couldn’t see how this brash newcomer could beat that. It really does. I can add a whole apple and it blitzes it (so you get all the goodness of the skin. You can add nuts and seeds (sunflower seeds are fab) and it whizzes it with ease

I am ashamed to say that we have Nutribullet still in its box in the cupboard. Bought here after Jonnie had seen the ads on American TV on holiday for years. I must drag it out, but we have so many other kitchen gadgets there is no space. Though that does sound gorgeous.

    PS love the glass too

Oh my goodness MB! Just try it. I’ve found my skin has thanked me because I’m eating so much fruit and veg and water. I’m just not as hungry as I usually am so not snacking all the time and best of all, I’m a really really lazy eater so I’d normally just throw a sandwich together (without being bothered to cut up anything salad like). This is SO easy
I away the picture of your first smoothie . . .

That’s fabulous & I so need to get me a fix of that concoction to ward away the seasonal colds that are bound to start knocking on my door now it’s autumn over here in NZ!

I have been seeing these on IG! Is the Bullet similar to just any blender? One of my fave’s is one banana, one cup of natural yoghurt, one cup of milk, two tablespoons of peanut butter and a bit of honey. not sure if it is healthy-ish or not…but bloodyhell it’s good stuff! I’ve missed joining in with The Gallery, kinda lost my funk with it all…but intend on coming back every week! X

    • Tara Cain says:

If you’re just doing that sort of smoothie then a regular blender is just as good. However the Bullet can whizz up an apple (including the skin and all it’s goodness), nuts, my current fav sunflower seeds.
My breakfast fav is very similar to yours except i add blueberries, raspberries, a banana and chia seeds. Look I’ve gone health mad!

Although your Nutribullet does look a little like grass I’m sure it tastes divine. My brothers make a lot of these and they swear by them. I should follow suit really! Finally finished doing a mat leave contract in London so a little more time. Only just saw your theme was colour so I’ve linked up a floral eyeball feast 🙂

I can never quite imagine having clean gadget and ingredients and time all in one place at one time but I’d love a go so I shall enter. I find I’m craving more fresh at the moment and it does look surprisingly scrummy.
