Creating a personalised photography gift for Christmas

A couple of years ago I was totally stuck for a Christmas present for my inlaws.
I mean totally stuck. Gnawing on my knuckles, biting my bottom lip, nag nag nagging the husband for an idea ANY idea of what to get them.
That kind of stuck.

And then I had a brainwave. Or actually I stumbled on Pinterest and tapped into one of the brainwaves on there.
I made a unique photo gift.
The children and I came up with a very simple prop, had a good giggle one afternoon staging the photographs and this is what we came up with.
You can see the whole tutorial for this personalised photography gift here.
It went down an absolute storm.

This year the children are a few years old and I’m looking at ways of updating this and sending something a little different.
I’ve once again been trawling through Pinterest for ideas and inspiration for photographs to take for the project.
And there are some gorgeous ideas – from how to take portraits and family shots, to how to think a little bit differently for a more unique photograph.
Have a look at my Pinterest board here with some ideas.
