You’ll NEVER guess what the theme is going to be. Given it’s the end of the school summer holidays. And it’s time for children up and down the land to go back to school . . .
Yes, yes, the theme for the next Photo Gallery is indeed: School.
Of course some have already made the return, some are yet to restart and some are starting for the very first time.
I was chatting to my friend Sian on Twitter yesterday about how emotional we get when our children go back to their classrooms after six weeks at home. Whatever the age – my oldest is 11 now and it still bites.
We do the manic uniform buying thing, naming everything, school shoe shopping, getting them back into a decent bedtime routine. But all the while it feels like a clock counting down the days until the house feels very empty and hollow again.
But on a positive note, at least I get lots more work done!
Want to join in?
The Gallery started back in 2010 when I kicked it off for the first time with this post: Photo Gallery Week 1. There were loads of comments but when I moved this blog over to WordPress, Intense Debate ate them all up. But suffice to say some of you guys who still join in today were back there with me on that first week. And that is just amazing!
I set the Gallery up because I love photography. And I wanted to give everyone else an outlet to share and encourage and write really interesting posts around them.
And it has always been about being part of a community of like-minded people. It’s about sparking your imagination, being inspiring – and inspiring others.
But remember, you will get out of The Gallery what you put in, so try to visit as many of the other entries as you can, say hi, discover new people, welcome them in when they discover you, be generous with your comments.
See you on Wednesday when it’s time to link up x
