The Photo Gallery 187: Sunlight

Dan

You know when you see a moment and you scramble for the camera because it’s perfect and you love everything about the composition and the subject and light?
You don’t have time to fiddle with the setting or you know the moment will be lots so you just go for it and shoot before anyone notices and spoils the moment.
And then it’s damn well overexposed?
Gah. Well, I still love this photo.

We discovered an exciting new nook in the woods we frequent all the time and it was literally strewn with the most magical, magnificent sea of bluebells.
And as we walked through them, following the rambling path, Dan declared it was just like something from The Hobbit or Narnia and we were all instantly transported to another world as the sunlight fought it’s way through the canopy and highlighted the sea of blue below.
Just wonderful.

Sunlight often ruins my photos. Have not mananged to find any bluebells this year – going on the hunt for them tomorrow I think

Capturing the moment is more important than getting the perfect photo. This one is gorgeous anyway!

That's a great shot with the light. I never usually manage good sunlight photos

    Still a great photo!
Funnily enough the one I've shared also wasn't necessarily the best in terms of lighting as there are shadows across Zack's face, but it's still one of my favourites from when he was little. 🙂

I really love this photo and totally get what you mean about scrambling for the camera when you see a perfect shot. If only more people understood though! Also, going for a walk in the woods is something I haven't done in aaaages. It made me feel really nostalgic about my own childhood and remember the simple things that I like and make me feel happy. I need to get back in touch with nature. Maybe a camping holiday this year? I've always wanted to go to the Lake District, New Forest and… there was somewhere else. Centre Parks, maybe? We'll see.

Great photo, sunlight is something we've been in short supply of this weekend, hopefully we'll see a bit more of it today 😀
