Yes, that was my home with a film crew in it, lights dotted around my kitchen and a high-powered camera trained on my cakes!
No pressure then.
A few months ago I was asked by Ski to create a recipe using one of their new desserts Ski Sensations. Four bloggers were tasked with the challenge and each of our recipes were put on the Ski Facebook page and their visitors and fans were asked to vote on their favourite recipe.
This is what I made, Feeling Peachy Cupcakes.
And they only went and won!
So, Ski then asked if they could come to my home, my kitchen, and film me making the cakes.
Which was kind of exciting and kind of nerve-wracking.
Truth be told, filming this short segment was hard work. The lights were unbearably hot, as I felt my make up and my dignity melting under their hard stare.
I kept fluffing what I was going to say. I usually have no trouble blabbing on, but when you’re being filmed and when it matters because it’s being committed to tape or digital file or whatever we have now, well that’s a whole different matter!
Anyway I made it and here it is.
Many thanks to James Ruane and Phil Thomas from Praxima who were absolute stars and made me feel very relaxed about it all. Apparently that camera they used right there in the photo is the sort used to shoot The Hobbit, so ooooooo!
And many thanks to Ski for adding my little recipe to their website.
NOTE: You may notice the deliberate mistake *cough* at the start of the video when I say you need 600g of butter. Clearly you don’t need that much. You just need to just follow the original recipe which is here!
