An unusual and exciting or daring experience. A reckless or potentially hazardous action or enterprise.
Three years ago this blog afforded me the most amazing opportunity to go on a journey of discovery.
An actual adventure. Into the jungle. Into a place where very few people have travelled. To meet people very few others have seen.
I travelled with UNICEF to Indonesia to see and report back on the work they were doing in the remote region of Papua. Not Papua New Guinea. The Papua on the Western side of New Guinea where few venture.
It was exciting, it was scary and it was the most amazing adventure. And it changed me.
Even now looking back on the photos, I’m transported straight back to the sights, the smells, the emotions.
I have never experienced anything remotely like it.
And here we all are; the crew I travelled with. Bone tired, dishevelled, dirty. And changed.
This post is for week 178 of The Photo Gallery: The theme is Adventure.
