Date night for eight year olds

Or I could have titled his post ‘the day my 8 year old discovered face packs’!
I promised Mia she could have a friend for a sleepover and we would make it a ‘date night’.
Which basically means a movie, while eating copious amounts of chocolate and popcorn and supping on luxury hot chocolate. With PJs on and wrapped in blankets.
An eight year old’s version of Valentines!

And they had a ball. Mia was her mother’s daughter and opted for the chocolate face pack, her friend had the peel off and they giggled and ‘urgh’ed and ‘oooo’d and felt like teenagers.

And then we all curled up on my bed and watched Despicable Me 2 and giggled some more.
A pretty perfect night.

Apart from the 2.30am wake up call because they girls were STILL up giggling and chatting. Not so perfect. Neither was the grumpy 8 year old I had to handle with kid gloves two days later!

Many thanks to Claire’s for the fabulous ‘night in’ pack.

Looks like loads of fun! I'm so looking forward to doing things like this (aside from the 2.30am situation) with my daughter when she's a little older. We do like Despicable Me 2, too 🙂

I love how Mia has gone full-blown face coverage, while her friend has careful stripes!

Tag for you in a tag thingy, over at my blog.

Heehee 😉 what fun xx I know it's for 8-yr olds, but I'd pretty much like that night in myself TBH! lol xx
