christmas tree decorations The Photo Gallery 169: Christmas tree

Ah yes the Christmas tree.
Our decorations aren’t themed or fancy or expensive. I don’t care what goes where or whether the woodland animals go next to the woodland Santa.
But our decoratons do tell a story. I can remember where every fairy, bauble, bell, heart and flying sheep is from. Every one has a tale to tell.
Every year Santa brings a new decoration for each of the children in their stocking. And the children remember exactly which one they had and which year. Which I just love.

Our tree isn’t just a huge decoration in the front window of the house; it’s a scrapbook of our Christmases past.

This post is for week 169 of The Photo Gallery: Christmas tree.
If you’re new and want to know what The Gallery is, go and read here, and then come right back and join in!

Same here. Some are survivors of mum's generation, others are made by the kids, some are from trips we've had where we've bought a bauble or two. Memories….say no more!

That is a proper Christmas tree! I love the idea of the kids getting a new decoration every year. We've always added to ours gradually over time and it doesn't exactly match. (Although I am extremely disappointed with mine this year!)

How wonderful! I have never caught on with the 'buying a special decoration each year' but so wish I had. Mine are sadly a bit old now :( Loving all the woodland creatures in your tree.
