Today, I took my family to the local cat rescue centre to give a kitty a new home.
Our old cat died a good two years ago now, and while we brought a dog into the home during that time, the husband and I have really really missed having a cat around.
That aloof, haughty look. The ‘yeah, I’ll fuss you when I feel like it’. The white noise hum of their purring. We just love it.
So we agonised for an hour, went round the cats three times and then sat and took another 10 minutes to decide on who we’d take home.
Then we came home and argued about what to call her.
For yes, it is a she and she will be with us in a couple of weeks after a home visit from the centre.
Then she gets to meet the big guy; the dog. He’ll probably love her to death.
So, to mark the occasion, this week’s Gallery theme is: Pets.
Show me your pets. Your cats, your dogs, your birds, your hamsters, your lizards, your rock python (someone’s going to have one aren’t they?!)
Remember to come back on Wednesday to share your photos with everyone.
