The Photo Gallery: Week 153

Gallery logoHello and welcome to week 153 of The Gallery.

One hundred and fifty three weeks. That’s pretty good going. I know there are some people who join in The Gallery who have never missed a week. That is hugely impressive!
What I always wanted to create with The Gallery was somewhere for people with a love of photography to hang out. A virtual space where we could share our photos, meet new people, get inspired, inspire and feel it was somewhere we could be creative.

And this week that dream has been recognised by the wider community. Technorati singled this blog – and The Gallery – out for ‘taking the virtual fireside storytelling to another level’. I love that.

The post, by Technorati editor Steve Woods, states:
“Calls to action are a brilliant blogging technique, because they ask readers to perform an action, whether to contribute a related comment at the end of a post, to share the story with one’s own network, or to follow up with a personal action going above and beyond the typical blogger/reader relationship.

. . . Tara Cain has taken the virtual fireside storytelling to another level, reaching our her hand and beseeching those sitting and listening to stand up and share their own related stories, again and again…
And in doing so, Sticky Fingers has become a place where its readers share the warmth of community. Who wouldn’t want their blog to be like this?”

I just wanted to take the time to thank each and every one of you who have joined in with, read, promoted or supported The Gallery over the years. This is all down to you.
I like to think that The Gallery makes you think, gets you fired up – but most of all gets you taking and sharing photographs!

And so to this week’s theme. I know many of you are chilling out or holidaying or home holidaying or at least trying to do one of the above! So the theme is: Relax.

Get your thinking caps on. Then remember to come back on Wednesday to share your photos with everyone.

If you’re new here and want to find out what The Gallery is all about and how to enter visit here.
And if you want to make sure you don’t miss any prompts or entries in future, make sure you subscribe to Sticky Fingers and get all prompts delivered directly to your in box.
Go on, clicky click away, you know you want to …

If you want to join in with The Gallery and showcase your photos, come back on Wednesday and when my Gallery post goes live, add a link to your post on the Linky below mine.
The link stays open until the following Tuesday, so you have plenty of time to join in.
Remember, The Gallery is about rediscovering photos; both old and new.
It’s about sparking your imagination, being inspiring – and inspiring others.
And absolutely ANYONE can join in.

Also, if you’re linking up to The Gallery then try to visit as many of the other entries as you can to see what they’ve come up with. Say hi, discover new people, welcome them in when they discover you.
You will get out of this what you put into it.

That is such a brilliant endorsement. Lovely to do something for the love it, for your own reasons and get recognised by somebody else for that.

What a cool thing to say – and totally true! I love having the challenge of thinking outside of the box and not writing about the most obvious things.
