The Photo Gallery: Self Portrait

This is me. The every day me.
Not the me where I’ve slapped on make up and done my hair for a photo.
This is the every day me. My hair is a mess, I’m still wearing my dog walking clothes. In fact I’m out on a dog walk. The sun on my face, the wind in my hair. A proper self portrait.

This is the me my kids see every day and love even though I’m rough around the edges. They don’t care that mummy hasn’t put concealer under her eyes, or styled her hair properly or checked that x matches y.
They love me for me and that’s how I want to remember myself at this point, because that’s the best me of all.

Look at that lovely blue sky! And great sentiments…

There are a lot of photos of me taken from that perspective at the moment too, because we gave T a camera for his birthday. So far shots zooming up my nose seem to be his speciality.

Looking forward to seeing all the entries this week x

It's funny how we forget how others actually see us on a day to day basis.I rarely take photos of myself.I may have misinterpreted the theme slightly for my photo :/

Not at my best right now, with or without makeup, but it’s so fab to see how much your kids love you, even at your least perfect.

  7. It’s a great photo. That’s how I like my kids to see me too. They’ve got no choice to be honest! They find it weird that people actually wear make-up! πŸ™‚

If your husband is anything like me he also won't care about the makeup and stuff. The moments when people are most happy, relaxed and contented are when they are the most beautiful.
