The Photo Gallery: Girls

Anyone who is a regular reader of this blog will know that Mia has been a Challenge. Yes, with a capital C.
I don’t know if it was a girl thing or a second child thing or just her huge personality. But boy did we feel every minute of that parenting journey.

Then she turned 7, and everything changed. Almost over night. Something switched in her. Something clicked into place. Like she finally found her comfortable place.
And she is the most delightful, interesting, engaging and fun girl to be around now.
Still spirited mind you, but then every girl should have a healthy dose of feistiness in them in my humble opinion.

So this is for those parents with young girls who make them question whether they’ll ever make it through another year of tearing your hair out.
Yes you will. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Oh how I can relate to the "difficult girl" thing – I have two girls, one is easy going and the other is a feisty madam! You will have to let me know your secret, my daughter still hasn't settled down and she is 11! Have linked up 🙂 x

  2. She is really lovely and looks like she's really shot up over the last year too 🙂

  3. Beautiful girl! My girl is coming up for 7 and has always been a delight. My challenging one is my eldest boy. Hope my girl doesn’t go the other way when she hits 7!

Great photo, I've watched your trials and tribulations with interest, Matilda has most definitely inherited her dads stubbornness so I'm sure we're going to go through something similar in a few years. Mia seems like a pretty cool little girl though and love that she's playing tag rugby

Lucky you, mine are older and are showing no sign of being less of a handful. In fact we have the teenage years looming…

I remember what I was like as a teenage girl so I'm dreading the thing we call karma. My daughter is pretty feisty right now and she is only 3. Beautiful picture and loving your new look.

  12. she always looks like butter wouldnt melt!! I would rather in some ways they were feisty than all complying.

Congratulations on your new baby (I am of course referring to the blog)!
And feisty girls are fine by me. I have one too. Cant think where she gets it from.

  14. Lol! I think all children each must have their own unique challenges. Enjoy the calm. There is a saying 'small children, small problems. Big children, big problems.' Brace yourself, it may be the eye of the storm, but what a fantastic storm to be a part of. If there was only one single part of my life I could repeat I would choose parenting. X

My goodness, doesn't she look like you? I still feel so close to the beginning of the journey with my girl (nearly 3) but I am sensing a whole bucket-load of feisty in the pipeline. Love the new look.

  16. Kara says:

She looks so much like you!! I am glad she has found her feet and is a little more settled, but as you say – feisty is good!!

  17. Gosh you and Mia look alike! I've been reading your blog for over a year and this photo really captures the likeness between you both. I've linked up my post. x

It's definitely a girl thing. My son was and has always been a little angel and then we had my daughter WOAH she has the worst hissy fits I have ever seen, she's also a red head which properly doesn't help. Love you pic x

    She looks so angelic 😉

We're still in the very difficult stage with both eldest! 🙁
