His coach calls them Winner’s Hands.
During rugby training, the team hold their hands up in the shape of a ‘W’ ready to catch that ball.
Rugby hands. My 9 year is a big fan of the game and that slight hint of a smile playing at the corner of his mouth is probably because training has started again after a break over the last couple of months.
A break which has meant no muddy boots to scrub, or kit to soak in a bucket, or frozen toes as I stand on the touchline and cheer.
But my boy wants Winner’s Hands and I’m going to happily scrub, soak and freeze for as long as he holds a rugby ball with that smile on his face!
