The Photo Gallery: Easter

It rained pretty much for the whole of Easter weekend around these parts.
It was dull, cold and so far removed from the sunshine we’ve been enjoying of late that any chance of a party in the back garden was, quite literally, swamped.

So we did something totally different this year. Not a bar of chocolate or an egg in sight!

We headed for the hills in the rain, armed with a ‘treasure’ map, our rain macs and a spring in our step.
Yes I know you can go geocaching and be all organised and clever, but this wasn’t that.
This was me printing off a sheet of items to find on our walk, putting them on a clipboard with a pen (or a piece of sturdy card and a peg for the second one as we only have one clipboard) and then sending the children off to find their items.
We walked in that rain for a good two hours and not once did I hear a complaint, a moan, or a whine.
We tramped through undergrowth in search of creatures, unearthed ‘interesting’ stones and gazed up at the trees to find a ‘face’ in the bark.

One of our favourite Easters ever.

And, of course, the minute a ray of sunshine beat down on our corner of the Earth, we were out in the back garden having our own private egg hunt . . . .!
