For my 40th birthday, hubby bought me a fancy pants new camera.
It’s probably my most prized possession.
It’s a Nikon D60 and has served me exceptionally well and helped me develop my love of photography more and more.
I think a turning point for me was spending a day with professional photographer Jay Mountford last year with my friend Jane, wandering around a local park with our kids, learning how to take the leap off ‘automatic’ and dive into ‘manual’.
Earlier this year I travelled abroad on a blogger trip (more about that in the weeks to come) and got to spend some time with a fabulous professional photographer who travels the world with his work and who advised that I treat myself to a new lens.
And so I bought a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 as told.
These are the shots I’ve been getting with it. Just look at that depth of field! . . .
I bloody LOVE it!
